Got this little Land Rover in 1983, and I’ve kept it as a proper weekend driver ever since. It’s a Series 3 SWB, marina blue, and it’s been well looked after—no dents, no scratches, just clean and solid. The body’s original, and I’ve even got the full canvas hood and sticks from Exmoor Trims, though it still comes with the original pickup cab roof.It’s a diesel 2.25L with overdrive, which is a real plus for the road. I’ve had it fully serviced and kept it in a garage, so it’s been properly cared for. MOT and tax exempt, and I’ve got all the paperwork for the recent work—new belt, prop, radiator, clutch, and the wheels are restored in that nice beige powder coat. All the bulk head and chassis are solid too.
I’ve never driven it on the highway much, just around the coast and up the roads near broughty-ferry, queen street. It’s a real gem of a little rig, and I’m genuinely sad to part with it. I’ve loved it through the years, and now I’m just passing it on to someone who’ll appreciate it the way I have.
