Vintage Rattan Cane Carpet Beater

This old-school rattan cane rug beater is a real piece of vintage furniture ware — I found it tucked away in a backroom at Cherryvale Furniture Warehouse, where they’ve got the same hours as always: Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm. It’s in unit D2 and D3 at the Valley Business Centre, 67 Church Road, now in Wareham, Dorset. It’s been sitting in the back of a drawer for years, mostly just collecting dust — but it still works, and it’s actually kind of cool to see how these things were made. I’ve used it a few times, mostly to gently nudge loose rugs, and it’s sturdy. It’s not fancy, but it’s solid. Price is £9 if you’re interested — just let me know and I’ll send over details.
