2009 Volkswagen Passat Manual, 1968cc, 4-door
Description
Honestly, this car’s been with me for four years now and I’ve been absolutely loyal to it. I bought it from a mate who was a true VW nut—his receipts for work done on it go into the thousands. I’ve kept it well, it’s been my main ride between Hornsea and wherever I’ve been posted, and it’s never let me down. It’s a project now, not because it’s broken, but because a few things need fixing. Master and slave cylinder are gone—had to replace them, and it’s a bit of a pain to get to. The clutch was a bit temperamental for a few months, but that’s sorted now. The bodywork is average, wings are rusting—fairly common on Vw’s, I know.
Inside’s in great shape for its age—has a DVD player, SD card slot, sat nav, all that. The window washer reservoir leaks a bit, and the airbag light comes on. Turns out it’s not the airbag system, just a little yellow plug under the passenger seat that checks if the seatbelt’s on. I’ve just had the garage plug it in and reset it every time I do a mot—same thing every year, comes back on but never actually affects anything.
I’ve got one key. It’s not a show car, it’s just a solid car with a good engine that’s been treated well. I’m not selling it because I don’t need it—just because I’ve grown attached to it and don’t want it sitting around. If you’ve got a bit of VW know-how and are up for a bit of a project, I’d love to pass it on. No major issues, just a few things to sort.
