Sunrise Medical Quickie Q50R Powerchair
Description
I’ve had this Quickie Q50R for a few years now and it’s been a real game-changer for my mobility. It’s a pre-owned Sunrise Medical model with a lithium battery, so no need to worry about the old lead-acid type stuff — it’s lighter, quieter, and lasts longer. The best bit? It folds up in seconds with just one hand. You press a lever and push the backrest forward — no tools, no battery removal. It’s super simple. Once folded, it’s tiny enough to fit in the boot of most cars or even a taxi, which has been a huge plus when I’ve been travelling around.
The new footrest design means it folds down even tighter, so it’s not just compact — it actually tucks away neatly, which makes transfers in and out way safer and easier.
It has 200w motors, a 31 stone weight limit, and goes up to 4mph. I’ve used it both indoors and outdoors, and the range is around 30 miles — plenty for weekend trips or just getting around locally.
The electronics are from VSI, which is a solid name — reliable and well-built. The joystick is simple to use, and the controls are smooth, even if you’re not used to powerchairs.
I’m moving to Etchingham, Rother, and I’m not using it much anymore, so it’s time to pass it on. It’s been well-maintained, and I’ve only used it for everyday movement. The battery’s been kept in good shape, and everything works as expected.
It’s not fancy or new — it’s just a solid, practical chair that’s actually made a real difference in my life. If you’re looking for something reliable and easy to use, this one’s worth a look.
