Got this car back in 2006, and it’s been a solid workhorse ever since. I’ve kept it well looked after — 18 services done, and it’s clocked up just under 68,000 miles. Last MOT was in August 2026, and it came back clean with no warnings. The 1.4L petrol engine runs smooth, no issues at all, and the automatic gearbox is a real joy in the city. It’s a five-door hatch, so it’s roomy and easy to park — perfect for daily commutes and weekend trips. I’ve always liked the way VWs feel — solid, quiet, and reliable. The safety belt pretensioners are still working, and the interior’s been kept tidy over the years. It’s not flashy, but it’s been dependable and I’ve never had to worry about it breaking down.
