So, I’ve got a 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport SE Tech with the TD4 diesel and auto transmission. It’s a 7-seater, and the rear end has had some damage — not the whole thing, just the back end. It starts up and drives fine, which is good for a salvage vehicle.

I’m not saying it’s perfect — it’s been through an insurance claim, so the full story is in the HPI. I’ve seen a few of these come through, and most of them show up on HPI at some point, even if they don’t at first. That said, I’d really recommend you check it yourself. Bring your own mechanic or engineer if you’re worried — we can’t guarantee anything.

The car’s been stored in a salvage yard in Hemel Hempstead, Dacorum. I’ve had a few people come through and check it out, and the main thing is it’s fully functional and can be driven — but only after it’s been properly repaired and meets all road standards.

If you’re thinking about buying it, don’t rely on the descriptions online — the details that show up on eBay or Gumtree are just a quick summary. I’d suggest you come and see it. No warranty, no guarantees. Everything’s as it is — you’re on your own after you take it home.

I’m not selling it for a big price — it’s £6,975 — but that’s not the point. The point is, it’s a solid, reliable body that’s been through the fire and still runs.

Just be clear: this isn’t a road-legal vehicle until it’s fully repaired. If it’s got a MOT, that doesn’t mean it’s safe to drive — it could have been damaged after the test. You’ll need a new MOT once it’s fixed.

I’m not promising any interior bits like the parcel shelf, spare wheel, or sat-nav maps — those might be missing or gone. Everything’s been stored elsewhere before we got it, so it’s best to see it in person.
