2016 Citroen C4 Cactus 1.6 BlueHDi Hatchback
Description
So, I’ve had this 2016 Citroen C4 Cactus for a few years now, and honestly, it’s been one of my most reliable and comfortable cars. I bought it because I wanted something practical but still stylish—something that doesn’t eat through the fuel tank or make me feel like I’m driving a box. It’s a 1.6L diesel, which is pretty efficient—around 83mpg combined, and only puts out 89g/km of CO2. That means it’s not just good for the environment, it’s also one of the cheaper cars to run, with just £20 a year in road tax. I’ve kept it well looked after, and it’s got a solid service history—seven services done at 48k each, plus a spare key.
The wheels are 17-inch alloy with a diamond-cut cross design, which looks sharp and adds a bit of character. I actually like how it feels on the road—smooth, responsive, and not too heavy. The cruise control with a speed limiter is a game-changer for long drives, especially when you’re on the motorway.
It’s got two rear ISOFIX points, so it’s good for families—child seats fit properly and feel secure. I’ve used it for kids’ trips, and it’s been a real relief. The manual handbrake is a bit of a fun touch—aircraft-style, not something you see every day—but it’s easy to use and saves a bit of fiddling when parking.
Inside, it’s got a 7-inch touchscreen, DAB radio, Bluetooth, USB, and even a 12V socket in the cabin. The seats are comfy—front ones are sofa-style, and the rear ones fold down easily. There’s a panoramic sunroof, storage in the doors, a rear parcel shelf, and even a rear parking sensor. I’ve used all the features a bit, and nothing’s broken.
I’ve also got the full safety package—ABS, ESC, airbags, hill start assist, and all the electronic bits. The door mirrors are electric and adjustable, and the windows are power-operated. Even the front seats have height and reach adjustments, which is nice if you’re not used to driving long distances.
It’s HPI clear, which is a relief—no major issues. I’ve had it serviced regularly, and it’s been kept in good shape. I’m not selling it because I need to move, just because I’ve found a new car that’s more suited to my needs.
If you’re in Quorn, Charnwood and are looking for a solid, practical hatchback with a bit of style and good fuel economy, this might be worth a look. I’m happy to show it over—just give me a call.
