Antique Pine chest of drawers with original knobs
Description
Got this old pine chest of drawers in my home in Heysham, Lancashire. It’s solid wood, with original brass knobs on all the drawers — they’re a bit worn, but it’s the kind of thing that makes you think about how it was used over the years. The drawers have locks, but I don’t have the key, so it’s probably just sitting in a corner, not being used much.I found it in a storage space and figured I’d keep it for a bit, but it’s not quite what I was hoping for — it’s more of a project than a finished piece. There’s a small crack in one drawer front and another on the side, but I’ve looked at the photos and it’s not too bad. Could be a nice restoration if someone wants to give it a bit of work.
It stands about 820mm high, 1035mm wide, and 460mm deep — not massive, but it has that old-school charm. It’s been in the house a long time and shows the kind of patina you expect from something that’s seen decades of life.
I’m not selling it for a lot — just £36 — but I’m not sure it’s really ready to go to market yet. If you’re into old furniture or just looking for something with a bit of history, I might end up parting with it. Either way, it’s not flashy, but it’s real.
