Description

This is the one that really got me thinking about how small we are in the grand scheme of things. It’s the “Leave Only Footprints” photo by Robert Friel, one of the standout entries in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009 competition — specifically in the One Earth Award category. I found it when I was hiking on South Georgia, and it just struck me how quiet and thoughtful that moment was. A young king penguin looks at human footprints in the sand like it’s the most normal thing in the world. It’s not flashy, but it’s honest. The piece is in a wooden frame, about 56cm x 41cm — not huge, but the detail is what matters. I’ve only got one of these, and I’m not planning to keep it around. As soon as it sells, I’ll take it down. It’s from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. Price is £80.10 — just in case you’re wondering. #GumtreeCashback
