A truly special and unique car, this 1987 MK1 Toyota MR2 finished in Super RED coachwork has exceptional provenance, service history and is in outstanding cosmetic & mechanical condition. Owned by its current mature lady owner for the last 22 years and maintained and cherished regardless of cost. The car underwent a hugely expensive and successful restoration between October 2010 and February 2011, costing £15,910. The restoration work is fully documented with invoices and includes bodywork, structural work, anti corrosion work and mechanical works. To accompany the invoices, the much accomplished restoration firm included four cd discs photographing the extensive rebuild (over 150 photos), the cd collection is of course included within the sale. If you look through the service history photographs in this advertisement, you will be able to see the full scope of works carried out at this time. Admirably, the current owner wanted to offer the vehicle for sale to her extremely high standards and has spent in excess of £1,200 over the last 4 months to take care of some small jobs she had been meaning to do. These 2025 works include a full rear brake service, small bodywork repairs, and new rubber seals to the rear window and sill areas. In addition to these recent works, we have a stack of service, maintenance and upkeep invoices dating back to 1997 totalling £6,711. Therefore, including the restoration works in 2010 / 11, we have invoices totalling £23,821. The original service book has entries at PDI (8 Miles), 538 Miles, 7.4K, 13.3K, 19.4K, 23.8K, 26.7K, 33.9K, 36.7K, 41.7K, 45.6K, 48.5K, 55K, 61.2K, 66.5K, and 71K. We then have service invoices at 92K and 98.9K. The car has been given an oil & filter change most years in the ladys ownership, however we dont have all the dockets and have just listed the documented services above. In 2023 the car also benefited from a brand new clutch being fitted, the gearchange is superb. We have the auction catalogue from 2003 showing the MR2 listing, along with the purchase invoice. In addition to this evidence of the latest sale, we have sales invoices for three previous owners from 1994, 1996 and 2002. The car also has the original Toyota book pack including some old TAX discs, owners manual, stamped service book, Toyota Members Club brochure with fantastic 1980s promotions, Toyota Dealer Directory & Warranty Agreement Booklet and its original Toyota Stock Ticket! The car is completely original and standard, excluding the addition of a K & N Air Filter. The car sits on 4 x Pirelli P6000 tyres. The interior is completely stock, with only one seat having been repaired with a new section during the restoration. Following the cars restoration completion in 2011, it has only had a total of 5 single MOT advisories (brakes & exhaust), which have all been replaced. The bodywork is exceptional with lovely straight panels, no rust, dents or scratches and all original fixtures and fittings present. The alloy wheels were also professionally powder coated during the restoration process. It is also noteworthy that the car has been garaged since 2003 when the lady acquired the vehicle. The engine fires up straight away with no hint of a struggle or smoke. The gearbox, suspension, brakes and drive train are all completely on point and its a pleasure to drive. The electric windows work, the stereo is disconnected and ready to either be put back to standard or upgraded, as per the new buyers preference. The glass roof panel is completely detachable, and the car also has the original solid interior insert to block out the sun and improve sound deadening.
