Fender Custom Shop 1956 Stratocaster Journeyman 2-Tone Sunburst
Description
I’ve had this guitar for a few years now, and honestly, it’s one of the most satisfying instruments I’ve ever played. It’s a Fender Custom Shop ’56 Stratocaster Journeyman – not a flashy replica, but a real one, built to the same standards as the originals. I picked it up because I’ve always loved the vintage Strat vibe, and this one does it properly. The finish is a 2-tone sunburst, a Journeyman Relic lacquer that’s aged naturally – not sprayed on, not overdone. It looks like it’s been around for decades, which is exactly what I wanted. The neck’s U-shaped and has that classic ’69 9.5" radius – feels smooth and easy to play, even when you’re not hitting the right notes. It’s lightweight too, only 3.3kg, so it doesn’t weigh you down during long sessions.
The pickups are those fat ’50s single-coils – clean, bright, and full of that classic Strat tone. I’ve used it in everything from rhythm work to lead lines, and it just clicks with what I’m trying to play. It doesn’t just look like a vintage Strat; it *feels* like one. The wood, the weight, the way it responds to your touch – it’s got that old-school soul.
It comes with the original hardshell case, a Certificate of Authenticity, and all the paperwork. I kept everything intact because I’ve always believed in owning instruments that have a real story.
I bought it used, but it’s been well-maintained and played sparingly – just enough to keep it alive. I’m not selling it for a lot, it’s just one of those things you can’t really find that’s both authentic and in good shape. It’s not just a guitar – it’s a piece of music history, and I’m passing it on to someone who’ll appreciate it the way I do.
It’s based in Seaton, East Devon – no fancy storage, just a quiet spot in the village. If you’re interested, I’ll be happy to chat.
