Volkswagen Transporter T4 2003 Campervan

I’ve been using this van for a few years now and it’s honestly been a solid little workhorse. I’ve finally had to part with it, mostly because it’s not exactly in great shape and I’m moving on.

It’s a 2003 VW T4 TDI diesel, 2.4 litre, with just over 196k miles. The front and rear brakes were failed on MOT, the front drive shaft joint and a few suspension bits are worn — front ball joint, track road ball joint, and the rear reg plate lamp are also a bit out of order. There’s a gearbox advisory too, and I’ve had a few other little niggles over the years.

A few things to note: the back door lock button is missing, so you’d need to open it from the inside. The water pipe from the tank to the sink is disconnected and needs reattaching — the pump still works though.

Inside, it’s actually quite nice: the pull-out bed has storage underneath, there’s a cupboard, worktop and a movable table, a sink with an electric pump, fridge, front seat that swivels, interior lights, USB ports, curtains, and window shades. I’ve got cow print seat covers and a portapotty space (not included).

It’s got half a tank of diesel and I’ve kept it in pretty good order overall. I’m not selling it to get rid of it — I just don’t need it anymore. If you’re thinking of doing a bit of camping or using it as a project, it might be worth a look.
