Scania R560 Topline 6x2 Midlift Tractor (2008)
Description
Got this Scania R560 Topline 6x2 midlift tractor from 2008, and I’m finally moving on with it. It’s been a solid workhorse over the years — not flashy, just built to last. The cab’s a high roof twin sleeper with 4-point air suspension, and the engine’s a V8 560 bhp turbo air-cooled Euro 5 unit. Gears are 12-speed Opticruise with a semi-auto gearbox and clutch pedal — still feels smooth even after all those miles. It’s got a straight pipe exhaust and a single reduction drive axle with diff lock, plus air suspension on both the drive and midlift axle. The brakes are full disc with ABS/EBS and traction control that you can switch on or off. Fuel tank’s custom aluminium, and the chassis has that handy catwalk for easy access.
I’ve added a few bits that make it easier to work with — like the ISO trailer connector, rear loading lamp, Kelsa hi-bar with 6 spotlights, visor bar with LED lights, amber beacons on the roof, and full air deflector kit with cab extensions. The roof has a slimcool aircon, and the driver’s seat’s air-suspended with lumbar support.
Windows, mirrors, and sunroof are all electric — plus climate control, a CD player with sat-nav, and sockets for 12v and 24v aux power. There’s storage both overhead and under the bunk, and a programmable night heater. Cruise control’s still working, and the odometer reads 1,691,102 km (1.06 million miles).
GVW is 44 tonnes — it’s heavy, but it’s not a problem for what I’ve been doing. It’s been parked in new-romney, Folkestone and Hythe District for a few years now, and I’ve kept it well-maintained. Honestly, it’s not flashy, but it’s reliable and still handles the job.
Price is £6,975 — if you’re thinking about it, I’d be happy to chat. Just let me know.
