2022 Volkswagen Up! 1.0L 65PS 5-door Petrol Hatchback
Description
So, I’ve been keeping this car for a few years now — it’s my daily driver, and honestly, it’s been a solid little companion in the city and on the way to the countryside. It’s a 2022 Volkswagen Up! 1.0L 65PS, five-door hatchback, with just under 5,200 miles on it. Not much mileage, so it’s still fresh and feels like it’s been well looked after. The engine is a small 1.0-litre three-cylinder, which is surprisingly efficient — gets good fuel economy and doesn’t eat through the tank. It’s not the fastest car, but it’s quick enough for quick gets and handles city driving like a dream. The manual gearbox is a bit of a joy to drive — gives you a real sense of control, and the steering is light, which helps when parking or squeezing into tight spots.
It’s got that clean, modern Volkswagen look — simple lines, body-coloured bumpers and mirrors, not flashy but looks smart. Inside, it’s surprisingly roomy for a small car. Four seats, cloth upholstery, and the cabin feels quite well put together. I’ve got DAB radio, Bluetooth, smartphone navigation, air con, and even a couple of USB ports — enough for my phone and playlist.
Safety features are solid: front and side airbags, ISOFIX, stability control, and tyre pressure monitoring. The boot is actually quite spacious too — not huge, but enough for groceries or a weekend kit. Rear seats fold flat, so it’s useful when I need to carry bigger loads.
I bought it through a local Volkswagen dealer in Bedford, England — Vertu Motors, actually. They’ve been around for a while, started off as a Birmingham Ford shop back in the 1920s or so, and now they’ve got a network across the UK with a few premium brands like Audi, Land Rover, and Volvo. They’re not just selling cars — they’ve got service and parts too, which is a plus.
It’s got everything you’d expect from a used Volkswagen — the build quality, reliability, and that classic VW practicality. I’ve had it for a few years now and it’s held up well. The only thing is, it’s a bit of a no-frills car — nothing flashy, but it gets the job done.
I’m not selling it because I need to, just because I’ve got a new project car in the works and I want to offload this one. It’s been a great little car, and I’ve kept it in great condition.
It’s sitting in Bedford, England, and if you’re looking for something reliable, practical, and not too flashy — this one’s a solid bet.
(Just a quick note — the car has a 1-year approved warranty and comes with all the standard safety tech, including lane assist and hill hold. I’ve not seen any major issues, and it runs smoothly.)
