Renault Midlum 220 DXI Slide Back Recovery (2010)

Description

So I’ve got this old Renault Midlum 220 DXI slide-back recovery from 2010 — it’s one of those heavy-duty workhorses you’d actually see on a farm or a remote site. It’s a crew cab, seven-seater, with a 220bhp diesel turbo engine, Euro 5, air-to-air cooled. The gearbox is a ZF 6-speed manual with synchromesh, and it’s got a single reduction drive axle with air suspension on the drive axle.

The body’s a 23ft alloy slide-back recovery with chequer plate floor — good for loading trailers or caravans. It’s got a hydraulic lift mounted on the rear, a front-mounted Ramsey winch, lashing loops all the way from front to back, rear working lights, and a tow ball. The interior’s decent — there’s an Isringhausen air-suspended driver’s seat, a dual passenger seat, and electric windows for both driver and passenger. Heated mirrors, adjustable headlamps, and overhead storage too.

Chassis has alloy storage lockers, and there’s a sunvisor and side guard rails for safety. I’ve had it well looked after — only 600,000 miles on the clock, and it’s still running great. GVW is 12 tonnes, GTW 15.5.

It’s been sitting in Haltwhistle, Northumberland, and I’ve got three of these units — so if you’re looking for a reliable, tough recovery rig, this one’s been on the ground a long time and still doing the job.

It’s worth about £7,875, but I’m not going to advertise that — just thought someone might find it useful.
