1971 MG B GT
Description
Got this 1971 MG B GT a few years ago and it’s been through a fair bit of work since. I’ve rebuilt the engine, lightened and balanced it with a fast road cam, and swapped in a reconditioned carburettor with an electronic dizzy and programmable setup. The gearbox is a 5-speed, fully rebuilt.Front end got new 4-pot calipers, rear has front line discs and multilink coil-over suspension. Fronts have coil overs too. Wiring loom was replaced, seat covers and foam are new, as are the moulded carpets. I’ve got two 6-month-old 6V batteries, and the wheels are 15-inch steel with poly bushes.
It’s pretty much rust-free, which is a big plus. The original fibreglass bonnet had a lot of stress cracks and never fit right — I’ve always been a bit unhappy with that, so it’s not on the car. I’ve been meaning to get it painted, but haven’t had the chance yet.
It’s a solid, well-loved classic with a lot of history behind it. If you’ve got any questions, just shoot me a message — happy to talk through it. Located in tranent, East Lothin.
