Kess V2 V5.017 Online ECU Programmer with V2.8 Software
Description
So I’ve been using this Kess V2 programmer for a few years now, and it’s honestly become a go-to for all my car tuning and ECU work. I upgraded to V5.017 recently and it’s been a game-changer — the software is now V2.8, which means it supports over 7,400 vehicles across all major brands. The big thing? It’s fully online — no tokens, no resets, just connect via OBD2 and you’re good to go. I don’t have to take the ECU out of the car, which makes it way easier than other tools I’ve tried. Works with all kinds of vehicles — cars, trucks, even bikes — as long as they have a standard engine.
It handles all the common protocols like Line, KAN, EDC17, MED17, and Ford J1850. I’ve used it on everything from older models to newer ones, and it’s picked up a lot of new vehicles thanks to the update.
It runs on Windows XP, 7 (32-bit), and Win 8, and I’ve got it set up in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese — no problem at all.
Some of the handy features I’ve come to rely on:
- Real-time battery voltage check
- Full recovery if something goes wrong
- Automatic checksum fixes (when available)
- Works perfectly with ECM Titanium
- Tracks programming counters
- Lets you delete DTCs via ScanTool
- You can choose reading/writing speeds
- Option to write the full ECU file
- Bootloader mode available
It’s still running on my system, and I haven’t needed to touch the software since the upgrade. I’ve had it for a while now and it’s been super reliable.
I’m moving to Sittingbourne, Borough of Swale, and I’m passing it on — just like I’d pass on a tool I’ve used every day. It’s not flashy, but it actually does what it’s supposed to.
Price is £72 — if you’re thinking about it, I’m happy to chat about it.
