Description

I’ve had this necklace for years — it’s a sterling silver ingot pendant made by Pobjoy Mint back in 1977, part of their special Silver Jubilee collection to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 25th year on the throne. It’s a solid 32.4g piece, so it’s quite heavy and has a nice, chunky feel. I found it in a vintage jewellery box I inherited from my mum, and it’s always been a favourite of mine ever since. I’ve kept it mostly as a piece of history, but it’s also something I like to show off when I’m out and about. It’s from London, not something I bought online — just a real mint piece. I’m not selling it to a collector, I’m just passing it on to someone who might appreciate it. It’s now sitting in my chest of drawers in Shipston-on-Stour, near Stratford-on-Avon. It’s a bit of a piece of nostalgia, and it’s worth a look if you’re into royal or silver items. I’ve been thinking about selling it after all these years, so if you’re interested, just let me know — I’ll be happy to chat.
