This is my copy of Fortune's Rocks by Anita Shreve — 453 pages, well-worn but still clean inside. I’ve read it through a couple of times, and it’s one of those books that sticks with you. The pages are slightly creased from turning, but the cover is intact and the binding holds firm. I picked it up at a secondhand bookstore in Hertford, East Hertfordshire, and just never quite finished it — now I’m passing it on. It’s a solid read, and I’ve kept it in a drawer for years.
