Description

This old wooden lectern is a solid piece – dark, smooth wood with a bit of character. It’s got a nice sturdy base (53cm square) and stands 110cm tall, so it’s just the right height for reading while standing. The top is wide enough to hold a folio or cookbooks, or you could use it as a music stand in the kitchen. I’ve actually thought about turning it into a secret shelf for a bar or a little display cupboard for keepsakes – it’s not a fancy thing, but it’s useful and has a bit of charm. It came from Edinburgh, and I’ve been keeping it in my Toomebridge, Antrim and Newtownabbey District home for years. It’s not expensive – £76.50 – but it’s been sitting in the corner doing nothing, so I’m giving it a new life. Just thought I’d share it.
