2016 Volkswagen Amarok Double Cab Pick-Up
Description
This 2016 VW Amarok double cab is a solid, well-maintained workhorse with a lot of practical features. It’s got a 2.0 BiTDI engine, 180bhp, and a 4-speed auto — not flashy, but gets the job done. The interior’s been kept tidy with proper storage: there’s a 12V socket in the centre console, dashboard, and luggage box, plus an AUX-in for your old music player. The screen’s a 5-inch touch display with Bluetooth, navigation (with Western Europe maps), and SD card support — plenty of tech for daily use.Outside, it’s got a clean, rugged look: body-coloured door handles, black foil on the B pillars, chrome detailing in the grille, and those big 19-inch Cantera alloy wheels. The fog lights, LED daytime running lights, and heated washer jets are all there. Front and rear parking sensors help with parking, and the electric mirrors adjust and fold — useful when you're doing tight turns.
Inside, it’s comfy with heated front seats, leather trim on the steering wheel and handbrake, and a centre console with cover. Floor mats, armrest, and storage under the seats make it easy to keep things organised. The rear seats fold down, and there’s extra load support with lashing points and a protective coating.
Safety’s covered with ABS, ASR, ESP, airbags all around (including front passenger with deactivation), and a Thatcham Category 1 alarm with immobiliser. It also has hill start and descent assist, plus trailer preparation and a towbar setup. The underbody has a silver protective coating — good for off-road or rough use.
I live in Thornhill-Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway, and I’ve had this car for a few years now. It’s been well looked after and I’m just selling it because I’ve moved on to something more practical. It’s a reliable, no-nonsense pick-up — not a show car, just a solid daily driver.
The price is £15,705 — fair for what it is, honestly. If you’re looking for a reliable, feature-rich pickup that doesn’t take itself too seriously, this one’s a good fit.
(Just a note: I’m not connected to Evans Halshaw — I bought it secondhand and have kept it running smoothly. No fancy brand claims here, just real use and real care.)
