1997 Auto Sleeper Amethyst Motorhome 4 Berth

We’re letting go of this 1997 Auto Sleeper Amethyst after using it for the past six years. It’s been a solid companion for family trips and weekend getaways, but we’ve decided it’s time to move on — not that we’re not still happy with it, just not using it as much anymore.

It’s got a full MOT due April 2026 with no advisories, so it’s in good shape overall. The mileage is 54,200 — last service was logged at 42,292, but we’ve had it serviced since then. It’s clean and tidy, though there are a few things that need a bit of attention, like corrosion on the wheel arches, a few broken catches, and only one of the roof vents works. The side sun canopy also needs re-fixing to use properly.

That said, it’s ready to go where it’s needed — the monocoque body means no leaks, and the over-cab bed, dinette (with two forward-facing seats that convert to a double bed), and full rear kitchen with oven, grill, sink, and drainer are all functional. There’s a Thetford cassette toilet and shower with a pull-down sink, a 3-way fridge (though we’ve never run it on gas), and heating and a gas fire — both of which we’ve never actually used. Hot water, fresh and waste tanks, wardrobe, plenty of storage, bike rack, and tow bar are all there.

We’re not selling it because it’s broken — just because it’s not quite what we need anymore. If you’re looking for a solid, well-maintained motorhome that’s already been checked and is in decent condition, it’s a solid option. Price is £7,200 — not a huge sum, but we’re just passing it along.
